Executive summary:-
This assignment is based on a case study of a second-hand car company which has to select either Microsoft excel or database access to store their information. In the case advantage and disadvantage of both spreadsheet and database has been explained and then compared with each other. Based on the suitable software recommendation is given to the company with proper reasons. An outline design of recommended software is also given.

Introduction:-
Organisations and managers use spreadsheets to store their data, even though the data could be better managed in a database (hurn, 2003).There is a lot of confusion between spreadsheets and databases from the basic similarity that the key function of both is to store and manipulate data (hurn, 2003).
Spreadsheet:-
It is a table of values arranged in rows and columns (Rouse, 2015).It store data sets, but they provide the range of utilities so that can easy be manage and process the data sets (Smith, n.d.).Each value can have predefined the relationship to the other values.
