Drinking Tap Water Is Better Than Bottled Water
Drinking Tap-water Is Better Than Bottled Water
Water is essential for human life to exist. Water is a human right; it shouldn’t have to be payed for. Bottled water is simply taken from us just to be packaged, shipped and filtered to be given right back to the consumer with added negative side effects. So, why do we still buy it? The industry has been working for decades to convince consumers that bottled water is more pure than tap water despite no evidence to support their claims.
First of all, most bottled water is just filtered tap water. It takes more than 2,000 times more energy to produce bottled water. It also costs over 1,000 times more than tap water per fluid ounce. It’s just as easy to walk over to your local water fountain to fill up a bottle for the price of nothing. To make it even better, bottlers aren’t even revealing where their water comes from. 18 percent of the 173 bottled waters on the U.S. market today fail to list the location of their source. The National Defense Council reports that 90 percent of the money consumers pay for bottled water actually covers everything but the water itself.
People think that water is water. It must have the same nutritional benefits if the media tells us it’s better for you, right? We would still be consuming mass amounts of toxins if humans didn’t take it upon themselves to figure out exactly what they’re drinking and what it did to their body. But, before you purchase your next bottle of water, ask yourself something. Where does your water come from?
