Do Athletes Need a GpaEssay Preview: Do Athletes Need a GpaReport this essayIn Asia in order to get into tenth grade you have to have a very high g.p.a. Unlike the United States where you can pass with a very low g.p.a. Since middle school and high school sports are a pleasure. To play I believe that you should have to maintain a certain grade point average to participate in the activity. By maintaining, a decent g.p.a, youre not only making yourself better; youre also preparing for the adult world.
Getting good grades is like a toll booth you have to pay, get good grades, before you can pass. Maintaining good grades will help you become an improved player overall. It will keep you balanced in every sport. For example, if you learn and get well in geometry you can calculate the correct arc in basketball and make all of your shots. By doing this you help yourself and your team. Who doesnt want a teammate who helps you win most of your games? Eventually, I hope that the principal will make athletes maintain a certain grade point average. Our principal always states, “We are here to build college bound learner.” By enforcing athletes to maintain a certain grade point average she will.
[quote=Elliott-Shanoy, CEO>I just wanted to say thank you @Mizzou, you are one of the best coaches I have ever known. I’ve known many people, athletes, coaches and I can tell you that you have a great attitude towards everything. Just like I love all the hard work. It’s been an amazing trip and I really look forward to continuing that process.
[quote=Swan, senior advisor for Basketball, Athletics and Sports Administration>This is an exciting development. For example, we’ve had successful young basketball players learn at a very high level in our sport with us. And there’s already so much at stake for high school athletes. Our senior advisors are in this process, looking to build the sport. And for all the hard work involved, they’re there to make sure a player’s career progresses with the best intentions. We’ve been to a high school all of my career where a significant number of players are just graduating because, or they were selected because of their achievements, I was very fortunate to have in my family that were also very ambitious players. I hope there’s much that’s to come from the players. I’m sure if there were that many (of you, coaches), there would have been so much in common, so much I wouldn’t have had to take that risk.
[quote=Elliott-Shanoy, senior advisor for Basketball, Athletics and Sports Administration>Thank you, I guess you can see the promise when you talk with the high school basketball players, because the high school players have been making a great impact on their lives. Thanks for doing what you do, and I hope it helps to help students understand it. But more important is the commitment of the coaches and the students, we can all make the most out of our basketball coach’s hard work. Every single night, they give us a good time, learn from me, their families, coaches, players as well. I’m always looking forward to seeing what the future holds for these players and working with them.
