Terri Schiavos health condition was not very good. She relied on a feeding tube and
could not make decisions for herself. She was kept alive artificially.
The feud between Terris parents and Michael Schiavo have continued because Michael
said that his wife once stated to him she would not want to live artificially. Terris parents said
that he was just saying that because he was living with another woman whom he also said that it
was going against her Roman Catholic faith and that she would get better with treatment.
Congress, President Bush, and Governor Jeb Bush intervened alto with Terris case. They
intervened by passing laws to have her feeding tube reinserted.
Two conclusions that can be drawn from this article is that many Americans discussed
their end of life wishes with loved ones and put them in writing. Another conclusion is that the
court systems can intervene families wishes greatly.
Terri Schiavo, Karen Quinlan, and Nancy Cruizans stories are alike because they all dealt
with the court systems allowing these people to have their life supports withdrawn. They are not
alike because no one was wishing other wise and they have different injuries along with right to
die issues.
Michael Schiavoss position on Terris life is that she would die peacefully and not be
living artificially. I disagree with him because he should have listened to her parents too and with
