Tesco People Resourcing
Introduction
I will be analysing Tesco’s approach to employee resourcing. In this report, I will be talking about Tesco’s approach to human resource planning, recruitment and selection methods, reward and performance management practices and issues regarding diversity and how health and safety are managed.

Employee Relations
Employee relations looks at the skills required to achieving the optimum performance by employees and looks at the involvement of employees in the workplace. It also looks at the commitment of employees towards what they do and towards the achievement of organisational goals.

Employee relations are seen as a strategic term for the management of risks within the workplace. It looks at the risks involved when failing to receive the highest performance for the business.

For Tesco, this means that they will need to devise a plan or a risk assessment to see the outcome if a problem did occur and how they would be able to prevent it from happening and how they can prevent it from happening again in the future.

This strategy could mean if computers go down, what back plans would they provide for their employees and for their customers, because Tesco has recently added to their stores their ‘self-service’ checkout, would this mean they would need more staff on the till to deal with customers who want to purchase goods.

Employee resourcing
Employee resourcing is about how an organisation looks at the future of the company and how they are able to provide qualified and committed staff to be able to do the job properly.

Tesco will be looking at how they can retain their number of employees rather than hire more staff because if Tesco can train and motivate their staff then there would be no need to hire any more staff. The only best solution for them would be to hire internally however, if there is a discrepancy within the workplace then Tesco may need to hire a suitable person for the job using their own recruitment and selection process.

There will be times where Tesco will need to outsource which will mean going to external companies to find the right person because workload is too much for them to perform the recruitment and selection process.

Human Resource Planning
Human resource planning is about finding the right resources to meet organisational goals. It also requires them to increase employee retention and be able to recruit new member for their organisation.

Human resource planning involves developing a plan to finding the right skills and methods to meet organisational needs. This means they need to find the right person for the right job and to do this they will need to develop a job description and post a
