I found this web based career tool to be very interesting and accurate. Based on my results I would be best suited in building and grounds cleaning and maintenance. I started my first job as a housekeeper at the age of 17. I loved this job. Throughout my life I was always interested in hospitality, mostly the housekeeping aspect of hotels. I was not surprised to see this come up in my results.
Understanding my personal competencies will help to improve my critical thinking skills by understanding and acknowledging to myself what I already know. When in a conversation with someone who had less knowledge the I do on a subject I will be better able to think about what he or she is saying to have a reply (positive or negative) that is suited for the conversation. This will be helpful in the pursuit for the type of employment I am seeking.
Knowing my competencies can help me evaluate arguments by being able to admit to myself if I do not have enough information to be involved in the argument or to proceed with the argument. According to the test results my competencies are strategizing, innovating, taking initiative, organizing, delivering results, and following instructions. With strategizing being at the top of the list I can see why I can take the lead in an argument even if I am not as informed as the other person.
