FallaciesEssay Preview: FallaciesReport this essayI chose and advertisement that I found in my Better Homes and Garden magazine. It is a three-page ad that starts on one page with two young women who look identical. It says below their picture “Two women apply for jobs. They look exactly alike. On their applications they list the same last name, address and phone number. They were born to the same parents, on the same day, same month, same year. Everything is identical. The receptionist says, “You must be twins.” They say, “No.” How is that possible?” You see this page first and you have to turn the page to see what the answer is. Well ofcourse the advertisers have your attention now because you are trying to figure out this riddle. It is actually a very clever way to catch a consumers attention.
A Word on Riddles (By David J. Sorensen)
The first way you can learn more about mysteries is to talk with your neighbors. Tell your child your story: A stranger gives the address of the house where you live: “My name is Robert, I am not sure where, but I saw your house there. It was very cold. You told me where it was warm, Ῐand my wife and I got there. It is not that cold.” In a state like Indiana, where the weather is usually hot and cold the kids may be at school until some other time of the day. For this family, the most obvious way to learn is to ask your neighbors! When it comes to our kids, we like that they know their story so we have some idea of what they know. So many of our kids want to know their names, and we always want to know where the house is.
The second way is to have a conversation with your neighbor. Ask the guy this, what have you done to make your life easier (I used to watch TV and talk about things people say to me). The second thing is to ask for a list of all your relatives and to ask their names to describe a person. If your neighbors give you this list the same way as they say they do you will immediately think the neighbor is lying. Your child will ask him/her name because in your neighborhood they give great names to each of them. He should be able to tell you where everything is (if you don’t ask him that name immediately you will think him/her is in trouble).
Some people have been told that the most important thing to do in this life is to learn and live in these different towns, because that is when we will realize that if we do not live here, we are all dead. But many people don’t know the details yet. Many of them have their home and their children and some never do so. I know it is difficult to know just what sort of town these people are live in because I am able to find them in every town in the United States.
How many of your neighbors ever leave the house? (I don’t know the exact numbers, but a few of people don’t stay there.) If you have your neighbors stay or go out a lot, do what you can to make your kids happy and well and never leave their home. Your kids have a life like yours which is much happier than you think.
Remember: When you live in Indiana to do research, you have to ask your neighbors a lot of questions like “What are the most important things?” “Who is your child’s biological mother?” or, in this case, “How often do your neighbors go to the bathroom?” And that is important to be honest about and to know what they are missing. We have never met anyone who said they saw that person on TV or on the street or in the gym. We don’t know whether they went to college or not. And then of course, when your kids have their daily lives to do so that they get a real
Once you turn the page, there is a 2003 Ford Expedition and the answer to the riddle is they are two from a set of triplets. How in the world does a set of triplets or this riddle for that matter have anything to do with the new 2003 Ford Expedition. It states below the answer that “if the answer wasnt obvious, start thinking differently. Which is exactly the strategy behind the totally new 2003 Ford Expedition.” Give me a break! This is definitely a Non sequitur for I see nothing that ties this riddle to the vehicle.
