A Change in History for WomenJoin now to read essay A Change in History for WomenNigel LiawMr. GobrailEnglish 3-5A27 March 2006A Change in History for WomenWomen presently play a huge part in daily activities whether it is at school, sports, or work. Over the past three decades, women have gained many rights and privileges that men have had for half a century or longer. Gaining these rights and privileges has allowed women to play important roles in todayâs society. One of the most debated issues between men and women is Title IX. This issue has created controversial problems that have caused a separation between men and women. Although, Title IX is constantly brought up, it was the beginning of a new era for women. An era that would allow women to be accepted as equals to men in everyday activities. Throughout the history of Title IX, regardless of its positive objectives it has accomplished, it brought along different controversies with it.
E. Inadequate educationâĄA recent report by the Gender & Society Project has documented the pervasive problems inherent in children’s school education. They are not only poor by standard, but also not prepared for school. A 2007 report released by the National Education Foundation found that 5% of boys aged 8-13 are not proficient in school. While the school system was able to correct some of these problems, such as lack of discipline, the results were extremely poor for girls. A 2013 study found that, despite providing good instruction, female students were four times as likely as male students to be expelled. To further complicate matters, the report found that only 40% of school dropouts who attended school after their high school graduation were successful. Furthermore, almost one-third of the boys in high school went to college. This is not to imply that girls were not affected. They are not. However, at a very elementary level, girls are the “harsh majority” of university admissions, while boys are more than four times more. If you are interested in getting involved with the issue, you could read this article or follow my blog. The article explains some of the causes of why it is a matter of some concern. I’m also talking about getting involved with the issue. If anyone feels like they don’t have enough of this, consider subscribing to my newsletter to get up to date with updates.

Lines of the article by the Gender & Society Project have outlined some interesting things. The piece explains the major issues surrounding Title IX and what to do about it. I hope to add some more information on what the two issues can do to people whose lives have changed dramatically over the years. To help those in need (including those in high school, before and now who are struggling with these issues) find an organization that can help them find some solutions to these issues, I offer this link.

There is a lot of controversy around what the ‘new era’ will be like for the gender and rights of all non-whites. However, there are some significant improvements that can be made in educating and supporting students with specific problems. This website will have a few interesting things to share about our current and future. I hope you know what the future of gender equality looks like, whether it is through the improvements and education programs, or through the changing and widening of the educational system through education in other areas of life.
