“If I were President”
Hello my fellow Americans, I come to you today to address the complex issues facing our society in this contentious time. The biggest concern of my administration is our foreign and domestic policy issues. Let me take the time to familiarize the American people with our policies and where we stand today with them. I want to assure the American people that my administration is doing the utmost best in resolving these issues. We will all have to make small sacrifices in order to take a giant step forward. One of those sacrifices of course was the passing on of my predecessor John F. Kennedy, lets take the moment to honor a great man and leader. We also have to reflect on one of our greatest achievements for the decade, which involves the successful mission of Apollo 11 touching down on the moon and Neil Armstrong taking the first step on the surface, Unites States greatest achievement.
Domestic Policy
(Topic Civil Rights)
Our first order of business tonight is to discuss some growing issues within our borders. One of the problems I will be discussing is Civil Rights in regards to segregation in this country. Let me define exactly what civil rights and segregation are. Civil Rights in the simplest terms are the right for all to be equal. It is also the right for all to be eligible to receive the same rights and respect as others. Segregation is the physical action or process of separating based on race, and gender. In the simplest terms Segregation is the lack of respect of enforcement of civil rights. This problem is not new for us, but after generation to generation this issue will be passed on through family values. I want to remind you Segregation is morally wrong and illegal. “Civil Rights Act of 1964 outlaws discrimination on the basis of race religion, and sex; discrimination in private business that serve the general public, and discrimination in public facilities”(RosenBerg pg. 139). This is a law my administration
will take seriously and enforce in order to stop this spreading mentality. Our constitution outlines under the Fourteenth Amendment that all americans are protected by equal protection laws. Hatred is in our schools and in our neighborhoods. We have all seen what segregation does for example brown vs. board of education in Topeka (handout). It makes people feel that it is acceptable behavior because of the power of local governments. The board of education was found in error by the Supreme Court of United States. What my administration is going to do is publicly end Segregation and restore Civil Rights. I will introduce a law called Civil Rights Restoration Act and its job will be to remove control from state government so they will lose their free will to a choice of Segregation. Federal Government will have full control in order to abolish Segregation and monitor that it is not happening in any states or municipals. Punishment of violating this law will result in heavy fines for individuals or loss of funding support for state and local municipals. Repeat concerns may result in jail time. Any advertisement of segregation in public places must cease to exist once this law is put into the books. This law will also impose strict penalties on opposition groups that worship or preach the actions or words, which oppose this law. These opposition groups will not operate comfortably in our borders. By stopping these opposition groups will be able to restore security morality and peace in the people who are being persecuted.
(War on Poverty)
The next issue that I need to address to the American people is a war we are losing in our own borders, that is a war on poverty. This is not an easy task to describe but it has been dealt with from my predecessor President Johnson. I want to take the best efforts he made and try to expand on them to push forward. First let me give you an example why poverty is getting out of hand. I once recalled a reputable critic downplaying the tax reliefs, which were giving to taxpayers. “Unwilling to help themselves I threw a hand grenade at a bum.”(RosenBerg) This here is a problem with morality among Americans. We are all equal people that chosen different careers. I want to impose a way to bring morality up and motivate blue collar working Americans. If we do not accomplish this giving our current tax break, inflation will rise. So for the good of the Americans and economy, we are going to start a new Anti-Poverty Fight. We have to first stop and think what is it that has us losing this battle. The organization standing behind this issue obviously is not the problem. Community Action Program made the right choices in establishing programs that train Americans in certain job skills, which is still the best idea. My administration
