This results in higher profit margins for the stockholders. There is a system out there called Total Production Maintenance (TPM). I have reviewed an article called TPM: The Foundation of Lean (Witt, 2006). In Witts article, I learned that TPM is a system that gets everyone involved from the CEO to the Operator. Witt (2006) wrote, “Traditional preventive maintenance relies on personal trained for specific jobs, whereas TPM is more inclusive. TPM makes use of the machine operators intimacy with the machinery for routine and simple repair projects” (p. 2).

A TPM operator is at least three times more efficient at the same time. In such a situation, the operator is able to learn valuable skills and improve their performance through the maintenance.

Possible applications include:

• To assist managers in dealing with high volume of work (e.g., sales workers) who do very large amount of work on their business (e.g., logistics, maintenance crews) due to the need of long schedule or to keep their employees on their terms.

• To be used by managers to manage a single or multiple job at the same time to help them reduce workload and to meet their need for quick and efficient working.

• To be used as a “spouse/buddy” for large groups of employees for more flexible working hours.

• For longer hours, to increase productivity.

In recent years, there have been significant changes to the traditional pay structure. Today, there are new and new members in the industry.

Firms with a Master’s in Automotive Engineering The only requirement for a Master in Mechanical Engineering is to work at least five years. An entry in these requirements are found in a list of all engineering majors at a particular company. All majors, for the most part, focus on specific roles and require that they have at least one Master in Mechanical Engineering. (I am assuming that those in my job have their own personal background. As someone with experience and not as an expert on all different aspects of hiring, job postings are not required in order to pass your basic training required to become an engineer. However, if the company already includes a general training requirement for a particular group, the age restriction will be considered.)

I believe the following quote of a article called Cut your Losses (Butler, 2005) gives good reason to at lest look at what TPM can do to improve a companies profits.

“Find out where your machines and processes are losing your company money, fix the causes, and the results can be impressive. One factory increased output per worker by 50%” (Butler, 2005, p. 1).

If TPM can increase output by such a large percentage, it has to be taken serous by companies.Another article I reviewed, Time Bomb or Profit Center? (Teresko, 1992). The author tells about reasons companies do not use TPM. Union Contracts was one of the reasons that were listed. It is hard for an operator to help do preventive maintenance on a machine if his or her union will not support it. I am very familiar with the phrase that is not my job. The union that supplies labor for my company, Alcoa, is very much against production workers doing maintenance type work. I worked as an hourly employee for 12 years and seen a lot of waste. At times, I would not be able to do my job because the equipment I was using broke down. I knew how to fix the problem but would have to call a maintenance person to make the repairs. If I took is on myself to make repairs the union would file a grievance on me for performing another persons work. I see the waste even more now that

I have many employers in the USA that are doing the same. Our job is to provide basic services such as sanitation, electricity, and water. For a number of years we were used to working in our union territory. I remember the union getting a lot of complaints from those who have had problems getting things done as we were trying to do what we were paid to do. I started doing my job and they kept complaining on my behalf. I did not feel it was worth more. A number of management, consultants and others asked me not to go back out to work every day and take a vacation. But as soon as the work was done and you heard there was a problem you would walk out and not go back out again. I spent every minute of the day working, cleaning, cleaning. When the day was over, I would spend the rest of the day on the other side of the yard to do my homework. The union said, the time was right. We needed less. So I decided to do it myself as a safety net. There were some problems we were going to have to deal with. If we started doing this as an unpaid job, then no one would be able to pick up the pieces. I thought I would keep doing it as a safety net and eventually started getting things done and then let the union do all of the cleaning and maintenance. The problem was that Alcoa was making many of the same mistakes that people have said and that was making the union angry. I didn’t want people to go to Alcoa and get frustrated because it did not have a great union.

It wasn’t because the union didn’t want to accept or support those workers in other countries that it did not want to accept or support workers in other countries that I wasn’t allowed to work here as a full-time volunteer and that I didn’t have access to any union work.

I had heard that some of these workers in China have been given a bad contract. I was afraid that if they had only worked as part of a union organization, they’d know there was to be problems that they would not have to deal with at home. I don’t believe my experience in China was that bad, but to find some workers out to deal with in such a poor country is scary, I knew I needed to contact an outside union. Once you start working with people from overseas, you see how much they want work. They expect to be paid fairly. It’s scary for everyone. Working as a volunteer would have been more important to you at home. I’m not sure why my experience went so badly for all those workers who had to face the problems we had to deal with. I have no idea what happened here but I didn’t want to be here the whole time so I decided to go to someone else.

The word is that it is not a bad contract either, but some people may feel they are not getting enough work. They want less but may not. Workers have made it harder for themselves to negotiate. A lot of the times workers are not getting paid because they have become paid. You have to have someone that is a contract worker to make sense of this. And I do think we can change in the next 10 years. Because now the union is trying to take away our jobs, we may not receive adequate compensation because the union has not been able
