Research & Development: Toyota has two large production groups: Production CSA [manufacture group] and Production CG, a second development group headed by former GM engineer Shiro Sugiyama. Production CSA is Toyota’s second largest group based in Nagano Prefecture with a total capacity of 1.67 million vehicles and 2.18 million trucks. Production CG, or Production Car Group of Toyota, takes the name Car Group (CAR), since Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. created the car division in 2001 (Toyota CSA is also the second major company in Japan to use “CAR”). Toyota has now increased production to 20,000 units in the last three quarters of 2014.
Toyota’s production of large vehicles of its category 1 (2,000 to 60,000) has also been increasing in Europe and America. Toyota is responsible for the production of about 90,000 vehicles of smaller class 5 auto with a production capacity of 2.45 million motor vehicles. Also in Europe, Toyota has recently been working for Nissan, which has built its first large-scale SCC chassis for the third consecutive year.
In December 2013, Toyota announced plans to increase its production capacities by 15% and by 10% for production for the first time in history for two years. Since 2010, this new capacity will be in the range of 500,000 vehicles for the first time. Toyota manufactures more than 20 million cars globally and is responsible for the mass production of over 5.5 million models worldwide.
In the second quarter 2015, Toyota’s global market for compact cars (SPC) was over 120 million cars globally. Toyota launched a new company called U.S. Cars and the Japanese Toyota Motor Company is responsible for the manufacture of over 3 million cars globally.

At 2010, TMC has earned net revenues 18,993.6 billion yens, operating income is 468.2 billion yens and their net income is 408 billion yens. TMC expected in 2012 forecasts the net revenues will drop to 18,600 billion yens, operating income will decrease to 300 billion yens and net income will drop almost 50 percent to 280 billion yens this all due to the affected of financial crisis and the earthquake in Hokkaido.
