UKRAINE
Ukraine is like Russia but a bit different, especially the public. The people here (most of the time {hopefully}) will give you a hand if you truly need it. Otherwise, its almost the same, the buildings are the same, and the language is almost the same as Russian. Even the art is the same and so are the churches. The cars and personalities are also almost alike. If you look at it the way some people do, it is not really that different from Russia.
He climate in Ukraine is relatively warm (17ÐoC) in the summer days and not too cold (-3ÐoC) in the winter. The relative humidity for the whole year is an average of 75%. And the average wind speed for a year in Ukraine is about 18 km/h. The Ukrainians live in the same type of housing as Russians do and their main industries are Coal, electric power, ferrous and nonferrous metals, machinery and transport equipment, chemicals, and food processing (mainly sugar).
The traditional Ukrainian dress for girls is a knee high skirt, hat made out of flowers, tall boots, scarves and an apron. The main foods of Ukraine are Varenyky (pyroh), Holbutsi which are Ukrainian cabbage rolls, Borsch which is a Ukrainian beat soup, kutya which is a drink prepared for Christmas eve and is a mixture of honey, poppy seeds, and wheat (then you would add chopped cherries, nuts, and some sherry), Nalysnyky which is the original form of crepes, kolbassa which is a Ukrainian smoked sausage, Horilka which is a Ukrainian word for vodka, and kyshka which is sausage made from buckwheat and blood.
The Ukrainian Folk music is known for its unique melancholy quality and became internationally popular in the 18th century. Many Ukrainian musicians were sent to serve royal courts in Russia and Poland. The most noticeable instrument that belongs to Ukraine is the bandura. The most famous Ukrainian kobazar (a traveling musician, belonged to the gild of Kobzarskyj Tsekh) of the 19th century is Ostap Veresai.
