Trench Town hasnt generally been the merciless spot it is today. It was initially inherent 1945 as a Government housing project and there has been next to no venture from that point forward. Its difficult to keep your Dignity when you live in such trouble, yet the general population who live there have incredible pride in their community.Causes of primary and secondary onset of violenceAccording to the documentary the primary causes for the onset of violence in Trench Town were the politicians. The documentary states that politicians from the two main political groups in Jamaica provided guns to certain individuals in the community called āDonsā in order to eradicate the voter population of the other party. Presently the secondary causes or reasons for violence in trench town are poverty, gangs, no employment and such. Because the city is divided there are boarders for different gangs in which members of the community and rival gangs cannot cross safely. Another reason the violence continues is the lack of a police presence. Most gang members do not even respect or fear the police. Many of the offices are scared because the members of the gangs are more heavily armed than them. The dons in the communities acts as judge, jury and executioner, meaning they are the ones enforcing the rules.
