Essay on MarriagesIt is often said that marriages are made in Heaven, and therefore, a suitable partner is very much of a necessity so as to lead a very happy and satisfied life. We often witness two types of Marriages, mainly, love marriages and arranged marriages. In love marriage, two adults decide to involve themselves in the holy bond of matrimony and in the other the families of the groom and the bride, or the third parties, a very active role in determining the match. In earlier days arranged marriages were the norm; this research provides a comparative analysis of the different practices and beliefs in marriage in the American and Nigerian contexts.
The research contends that in effect, marriage rituals are characterized as dynamically developing to include or allow social changes that happen in terms of looking for a potential domestic partner
Marriage is the most important event in a persons life and the ceremony and tradition involve dare an integral of the day. Marriage customs and ceremony are based on the religion and the country the person is in.
There are lots of difference in the marriage customs between Nigeria and America, like in country “Nigeria”, marriage procedures follows step by step which depends on where the man comes from, either from the eastern part (called the Ibos), western (called the Yorubas) and the northern part of Nigeria (called the Hausas), in this research I would be talking about marriages only in the western region. Marriage in the western region of Nigeria involves various stages before the couple can be declared as husband and wife. Before a man can marry a woman he ought to go through some traditional rituals and process which involves quality time and money. This involves three different stages, firstly is the “momimo” meaning “introduction” in Yoruba language, then the “矛d谩na脿d茅h霉n 矛gb茅y脿w贸” meaning “engagement” and lastly the main event called “ayeye 矛gb茅y脿w贸” meaning wedding, after this last process then the couple can now called
Although the word married has many meanings in many different parts of the world, the word yoruba is used for very definite family and marriage arrangements. Many of those in the west are using the verb /c贸u/ as married. Introduction The “Yorubas” of Nigeria and the “Families” of America and the West are still a distinct people. They are known as the “family of God” and their various members use “Uj谩n” or “S铆y贸s” for family. The name used in various parts of the world is not a sign of personal status in most of the peoples on Earth. The Yorubas are a religious group of people in Western Africa, northern Nigeria, where the Yoruba people used to practice ceremonies like “Hausa” which was used for many of the rituals of early Yoruba. As the Bible tells Moses’ people, this ceremony involves washing their hands when they were born and then holding them on their heads until they are ready to marry. According to the Bible it is an essential rite to perform before marriage when one’s parents have a vision to them about a young woman and their husband marrying her. The bible doesn’t mention how much money needed to start the ceremony. Even the most orthodox Jews and Jehovah’s Witnesses are not really allowed to start the ceremony. It is not clear how much money it takes to start a ceremony, how many people are involved in raising the couple. The tradition that takes place is the one which is held among the elders, the “Y么t么” or “Hausa” from the Bible or the Yahweh’s People. Even when the traditional marriage vows are approved by the older parents, many of the couples who have children and take part in the ceremony do not have the necessary formal or physical education or education. In the case of the Yorubas, children are not the only people allowed to participate in the ritual. They are also forbidden from entering the house of the parents and living there. The following are some examples of people who use this ceremony: – In some countries, and especially in Nigeria, one needs to have an older woman present whenever the ceremony is performed. Such women are sometimes called an uj谩n. – In most of Nigeria, the word yorubas translates as “Yoh-Y么-h么” in the English translation, so such people cannot wear a y么t么 that is not worn by a husband or wife. – Because of the importance of the family system, certain women are allowed to take part in this ceremony. – It is not unusual for the couple to come and marry every single time there is a request for marriage. – In particular in South America, women are allowed to marry after three months’ worth of schooling (Y么t么, or Y么t么). The men can come here early in the evening and attend the ceremony in the morning if that is not required. – In some parts of North America, the men are permitted to marry. – In some parts of Australia, the man in the men’s group is allowed to marry on the night before his marriage. – In many parts of other countries, there are no restrictions on men who have children and have the right to marry. –
