P.S.- I am proud to share with you the work of the American Conservancy, to be the finalist for the 2001 MacArthur Foundation “America’s Most Influential Leadership” in which I am the honorary chairman, with the support of Steve Stoyan. As the only director to win the award in three of four years at this year’s American Conservancy Awards, I’ve brought with me a wealth and experience working at the most influential American Conservancy, and I’m sure that I will be pleased that I, as CEO in the 21st Century, will be able to reach more people. I’m honored to be in the new organization and the role I have playing. I’d like to thank all the members of the ALCA for their hard work and contribution to making this happen. I’d also like to thank the many dedicated employees of ALCA who were highly engaged in this effort, and I hope that they will remain in their positions for a much longer time. In particular, I thank those who were on board the American Conservancy during this year’s program to provide the foundations with a greater sense of accountability in what they did as citizens. I’m very proud and humbled to be a part of the American Conservancy, and I’m pleased today to be a part of many organizations that have inspired us to take action in an unusual and unprecedented way this year. My great appreciation and admiration to all who attended the American Conservancy. We hope you enjoy your visit to this year’s American Conservancy, and look forward to seeing how you learn and grow as you travel around the country visiting great local organizations such as these, and helping them do things more effectively. It’s been a great life for me. I want to thank my wonderful wife and our wonderful family for the wonderful years in which we had together. We will also like to welcome and thank the many amazing people who attended ALCA’s first meeting together in 1978, as well as the many members of the American Conservancy staff who were here for the annual meeting. We will thank ALCA for an overwhelming number of years of contributions to the community, and we look forward to building on the good work they are doing in such great health. I also would like to thank the many talented people in the ALCA who worked very hard during the last two years throughout this year to build the building
