Uncle Sam
The word I chose is Uncle Sam , which is famously known as the nickname of the U.S. federal government.I did not know the meaning of this word couple month earlier, and I saw this word posted on social media a lot of time. Therefore I’d like to share this to those who might not know. Uncle Sam was a nickname of a real person named Samuel Wilson , a meat producer for the US military from New york in 1812. He stamped his barrels of meat with letters “US” which actually stood for United State. However, soldiers thought that it meant Uncle Sam’s. They then made the nickname very popular that a local newspaper picked that topic and published it on its first page of the news. It was gained exceptional acceptant as of the nick name for the U.S. government. The white beard was added later by a professional cartoonist , Sam did not have a beard, especially white beard.
