Unemployment Rate Between 1988-2011
The purpose of this graph is to show the evolution of unemployment in Europe, UK and United States from 1988 until 2011 as it was registered by Thomas Reuters.
From 1988 to 1991 the unemployment rate in UK decreased considerably from 12 % to 7%, where as in US there were fluctuations from 7% to 5%. In Europa in that period the unemployment rates werent registered. In the next period, from 1991 to 1995, in both UK and US there were registered some considerable increasing then started to drop. In UK the unemployment rate started to recover, reached the boom somewhere in 1993-1994 and then started to decrease considerably. In US it registered a slightly increasing and the top was reached in 1993, early than UK, and continued to fluctuate in decreasing until 1995, and then remain constant. In Europe the unemployment rate started to be registered in 1995 with a 11% rate.
From 1996 to 2001 both UK and US registered a considerable recession, but in US the evolution of the unemployment was a little bit slighter than in UK, in 2001 reaching the bottom line. Europe remained constant until 1998, maintaining the highest peak, and then dropped until 2001.
In the next period the evolution was different for every area. For example, the graph shows a steadley increasing in Europe until 2006, but in UK it was registered a slightly going down. In US there was an unexpected evolution, such as a slightly increase until 2002, then in remained constant until 2003, but then started to decrease until 2006.
From 2006 to 2008 there were registered recessions in both Europe and US and then the unemployment bounced back, reaching the highest peak in US and a new top in Europe. In UK there was a slightly increasing followed by a jump and then remaining constant.
To sum up, if in the first half UK and US had a related evolution , in the second one, US and Europe registered the same evolution. The unemployment
