1.0 Introduction
This report explains the various standard theories and styles of leadership used in industry. In the report, the Premier Inn has been studied to evaluate the leadership style prevalent in the hotel. The motivational theories and techniques to manage the staff from different cultures have been studied. Furthermore, the motivational techniques used at Premier Inn have also been analysed. Recommendations have been made for the hotels leadership to manage the hotel in diverse culture.
In the second part of the report, the standard theories of managing diverse culture has been evaluated. The recommendations for the responses to the different needs and expectations of culturally diverse guests have been made. In the end, the techniques for managing and building teams with a culturally diverse workforce have been recommended.
1.1 About Premier Inn
The Premier Inn Hotel is the UK and Irelands biggest and fastest growing hotel company. It has over 500 budget hotels which offers quality accommodation at cheap hotel prices. The Premier Inn hotel chain is part of one of the biggest hospitality group of UK, the Whitbread Plc. The Whitbread Plc employs around 40,000 people all around the world and serves about 10 million customers in a month in UK alone. The group has planned to accelerate the growth of Premier Inn and increase its UK capacity by 50% to atleast 65,000 rooms, (Whitbread, 2011).
Premier Inns Vision and Values
The Premier Inn follows the corporates Vision and Values. The vision of the Whitbread group is to build the best large – scale hospitality brands in the world by becoming the most customer – focused organisation, (Whitbread, 2011).
The groups core values are:

Confident – the group is striving to be the best in every business they are working in
Commited – The group is committed in working hard for each other

2.0 Leadership
The definition of Leadership can be given as ” Process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task.” (Leadership501, 2011).
A leader is one with authority who lead others to accomplish a common goal. A leader should posses qualities

Leadership is active action to leading team or subordinate.
Leadership is the catalyst that transforms potential into reality yielding positive results.
2.1 Leadership Theories and Styles
Leadership of an organisation defines and influences all the major decision and culture of the organisation. Leader of an organisation leads the staff towards achieving the business goals and objectives with respect to organisations values, mission and vision. There are various theories and models defined on the type of Leadership and Styles being prominent in the industry. Some of the common Leadership theories and styles have been discussed below:
Trait Theory
This theory considers the traits of individual leaders. This theory suggests and explains the traits which are delivered by good Leaders.
The earlier research on leadership was based on the Great man theory of leadership, which was basically based on the psychological aspects and the characteristics or traits inherited by leader.
Later, the traits of the leaders were focussed upon, which made them successful leaders. The focus was not given to find the ways of teaching these skills to individuals to develop good leaders, but rather it was on finding the individuals with good qualities n characteristics of leader who could also become great leaders, (Managementstudyguide, 2011).
Contingency Theory
Contingency theory is extended from the trait theory. Basically leadership vary on the aspect of situational condition. Its define which variable or parameter is identified the situation, theory is not integrated properly because business environment have numerous situational variables, (Changingminds, 2011).
Fred Feeler finding some data from his tested hypothesis, he integrated all the data and formulated a contingency model of leadership how to effect the situation. He define the situation between leadership style and favourableness variable. In below showing the dimension, (Changingminds, 2011):

Motivational theory is given birth of path goal theory. The path goal theory is said the impact of the leader behaviour and attitude has on subordinate motivation, satisfaction and performance, (Changingminds, 2011).
