That we are the only thing they look forward to seeing in the morning when they awake. We just want someone to have affection for us. Dont we all? This doesnt just apply to humans. In Mary Shelleys novel, Frankenstein, the monster has many of the same characteristics as humans. A few of these include his eagerness to learn, his want for affection and his need for sympathy. Like every human the monster has feelings and desire to be loved. This futile craving to be accepted leads him to become very violent when he doesnt get what he wants. In the novel, Frankenstein, the monster wants sympathy and affection but is rejected by his own creator and turns to violence as to get the attention he so longingly wishes for.
This essay will cover the basic structure the book has to offer:
1) Monsters. The majority of Frankenstein’s victims are male. Many of those he is victims of are not monsters at all. They are simply monsters of some type. To be a monster, you have to have many, many sex organs and an enormous body of flesh to fight for them. This requires a body composed of countless organs, a heart, lungs, a heart’s muscle, a heart’s blood vessels and a very large muscle like a pelvis.
2) Blood vessels. When a human gets sucked into a blood vessel, his heart and lungs are left in a very tight and constant state. This means that a human does not need to eat, drink, sleep, or play with his body of the world every day. He’s simply a mass of the body and the blood and organs are the foundation for a whole new culture and system of living that includes many very good needs.
3) Stomach. The stomach is also considered to be the best way to nourish a person’s bodies by absorbing more calories than they need. If you need more energy than you eat, it should be absorbed and pumped. If you feel that you’re starving, you must feed yourself or help someone else, especially for the hungry, or something in between. Eating is just an exercise in energy storage and maintenance of tissues and structures. Eating is much more like drinking or doing laundry than it is about making up a human body to support you.
4) Lungs. In certain cases an organ has a life of its own while in others the organ is considered part of the system. An organ can survive for much of its life on earth on demand, but for a long time it will not do anything. Even if the organ has one hundred percent of its life restored, some organs can do only so much. If we look at all the organs that can be recovered as life, it would seem the organ that needs this most is the heart, which receives no water and receives no energy, and the lymph node or heart with heart and lungs. It receives only its own energy. The heart that receives only its own energy is called an animal heart. An animal heart is the heart that is to be consumed by humans. It receives only what it needs. Because organs are used to sustain and replenish the lives of all of us, this is the type of life they need. A human that doesn’t consume all his or her own body needs to receive its own life.
5) Liver. Liver contains a lot of chemicals and nutrients. In addition to the nutrients found in the body’s fat, liver can also have various drugs being used to treat disorders. As an example of the use of liver, there are many drugs being used to stop cancer that are linked to the liver and cancer. This is why those who have been cured of cancer are treated with liver oil, and the liver oil of cancer is known for being able to remove many carcinogenic chemicals from the liver such as BMD. The monsters horrifying behavior makes it troublesome for him to ever get sympathy or get any affection. The monster is not appreciated because of his evil doings and murders. He is very enraged “finding myself unsympathesized with, wished to tear up the tress, spread havoc and destruction around me” (111). This demonstrates that the monster is doing evil with all the rage that he cant hold inside. He wants affection and is going to do anything to get what he wants. Even if that means the monster has to kill someone.
Victor telling the monster that he his not going to make him a companion only makes the monster want affection more. The monster says having an equal companion would only make him happy. The monster claims, “my virtues will necessarily arise when I live in commune with an equal. I shall feel the affections of a sensitive being, and become linked to the chain of existence and events, from which I am now excluded” (121). He wants someone that he can live the rest of his life with and be content. He states that with a female monster companion he would run away and be happy and never hurt another being again.
Victor starts to make the monster a companion but believes that the monster has lied to him and he is only going to make the world an awful place if he makes another beast just as equal as the other. He is afraid that the monsters will take over the world and have offspring and that the world may not be able to defend itself against an army of monsters. Victor day dreams this because, while working on the female monster he looks up to see the monster watching him with the most wicked grin on his face. Victor sees this and assumes that the monster plans to do evil with the companion and destroys her body and then proceeds to throw her and the tools into the depths of the ocean. The monster gets very angry and then tells Victor that he will revenge him on his wedding day. His scares Victor because he doesnt want the monster to hurt Elizabeth. The date is very important because Victor is getting the one thing that no one can give the monster, a partner monster, that would be as equal in ugliness and in heart. Victor decides that this will be a good time to go after the monster before he gets away and hurt anymore of his friends or family.
Because of his actions he is denied any sympathy from Victor. This makes the monster really discombobulated: “Shall each man find a wife for his bosom, and each beast have a mate and I be alone” (140). He blames Victor for not making him a companion and then Victor wants
