Vincent Johnson, A.K.A. the Brooklyn Strangler, was a homeless crack addict who was arrested for the murders of five women, and remains a suspect in a murder of a sixth, before he was arrested and sent to Clinton Correctional Facility where he remains today. He was known to be in the Williamsburg and Bedford-Stuyvesant areas. He was eventually arrested at 6:45pm on August 4th, 2000 on the Manhattan side of the Williamsburg Bridge. He is currently serving a life sentence in the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York.
Johnson was born on January 6th, 1969. When he was young his mother was always at work. The only day off she took was Thursday, which was also the day that all of the murders took place (Murderpedia). At the age of twenty-one he had violent fights with his girlfriend he lived with, Patricia Carter. Then when he was twenty-six she kicked him out of her house (Radford University Research).
Johnson’s crimes started on August 16, 1999 (Justcriminals). He killed five people and was a suspect for a sixth. The victims names were Vivian Caraballo, Joann Feliciano, thirty-five, Rhonda Tucker, twenty-one, Katarina Niles, thirty-four, and Laura G. Nusser, forty-three (Justcriminals). All five women were strangled (New York Times). The sixth suspected murder has not yet been named. All of the murdered were prostitutes (Murderpedia). At the time of their murders they were all nude or partially clothed (Justcriminals). A picture of Johnson was released to the public in order to help find him. Johnson was taken in as a suspect but refused to give a DNA sample. It was only when a detective realized that he had spit on the street when they collected it and got a sample (Murderpedia). He was released but once the DNA was matched to his he was arrested at 6:45pm on August 4th, 2000 (Justcriminals).
Johnson went to trial and was sentenced to life without parole on March 10, 2001. He is currently serving his sentence in the Clinton
