One of the most effective ways to promote a company or a product is called World of mouth (WOM). WOM is about personal communication between r the product and another person who is thinking about buying it too. Sometimes this oral advertising happens without a int service and the brand. On the other hand it is cheaper than any other kind of commercial. The mayor advantage of WOM is, that the receiver of the advertising sees himself in an active position, he sees himself in the position to receive the information and consider the buy-ing option on his own, without being persuaded to it.
According to Manuel Castells in 1997, the evaluation technology and the growth of the internet lead to movement for the companies. They will move from the real world to the internet. Now, 15 years later his prediction became true. So did the World of mouth upgrade to another version, the so called viral marketing. Viral marketing can even help companies with a little budget to promote themselves through costumers pass the given information on by themselves. In 2007 Florian von Wangenheim said that viral marketing helps costumers to feel like they make the purchase decision by themselves. The friends, they get the information from appears to them more reliable than any kind of marketers or advertising.
Through the internet the delivery of information is very fast. Since using the internet to send out information it takes only a few days till the information reaches every place in the world, which is connected to the internet. Therefore the internet is the information delivery service of the 21st century.
