Bank of America (The Organization)
Bank of America offers a wide range of products and services to meet customers banking needs. These include consumer and small business banking, corporate banking, credit card services, mortgage lending, asset management, and wealth management. This organization is known for being one of the largest financial institutions in the World, but as of late they have been losing their position in this market.
The mission and vision statement are as follows:
Mission Statement:
“We built Bank of America to meet a full range of financial needs for people, businesses, and institutional investors; to attract the best employees to serve our customers and clients; to support the communities where we do business; and to create long-term value for our shareholders. Todays Bank of America is a financial services leader serving customers and clients worldwide. We help them to see and act on opportunities to achieve their goals by delivering value, convenience, expertise, and innovation. (Source: Company Website)
Vision Statement:
“Our vision is for Bank of America to be the worlds finest financial services company. We think this is an appropriate and achievable goal.” (Source: Company Website)
The mission statement is clear and concise. It lays out the goals the company is working towards by being the best institution to be employed by, the most valuable to its customers, and help the communities where it is located. Although the mission statement is generic, it fits the specific organization and industry. This statement gives a feeling of security that the bank is doing its best to serve its customers and be a good corporate citizen. It seems to be a statement that most full-service financial institutions could utilize.
The vision statement is good for the respectful industry. It would be much better if they utilized the first sentence and removed, “We think this is an appropriate and achievable goal.”
