Bus 475 – Mission, Vision, and You
Mission, Vision, and YouSusan WhitebirdBUS/475March 20, 2017Leah RabyIn opening a small business with my Aunt is very exciting, but in the same thought it is also very scary too. This is what I want to do when I finish all my schooling. If I get a chance to do this I must know a lot about it and have a lot of experience in it. With saying that, we want to open a coffee shop that we can sell our crafts at. I also want to help low income family with their taxes on the side. This has been something that we have always wanted to do even before I started my business degree. We live in a small town where there is nothing like this in town so it will benefit the community.Mission and Vision Statements To have a successful business, we need to have a good mission statement and as will a vision statement. These statements will give us not only the direction the we need to go but the goals that we want to achieve. They will also let our customers know who we are. There is our mission statement for our coffee shop. Our coffee shop mission is to give the people of our community a place to gather and talk. Plus, they can look at all the handmade items that we have up for sale. Also, we want to make more jobs in our Community. To go along with our mission statement, our vision statement is also very important. There is our vision statement if we get our coffee shop going.
The vision of our coffee shop is to keep the small-town feeling. Our goals are to bring more business to our community. We want it to feel like an old-time coffee shop somewhere, where your mom and dad might have gone when they were young. With both statements, I believe that our employees, and customers will know what our business is and what we want it in the future.Mission and Vision statements role on the way the business operatesMission and vision statements play a big role on the way a business operates. Mission and vision statements “summarize a companys business strategy in a form that can be communicated and understood easily by stakeholders” (MacDonald, n.d.). As the co-owner and manager of the coffee shop, if we follow the statements they will help us to teach and guide our employees to reach our goals for the purpose to why we are here. The affect this would have on myself and my aunt would be so personally on both of us because we want this coffee shop to be successful. Therefore, the only way for us to grow with our business is to follow our mission and vision statements the best we can.
