The nature of human is selfish is incapable of thinking other people most of the time, yet in today’s world it is important for us to create a sustainable nature in order to create a healthy environment for our children and us. Many people trusted VW with their cats and the protection promise of the nature yet VW failed to keep their promise and betrayed their customers. Kant’s approach on the trust issue is extremely important on this issue. According to Kant; one should never manipulate or trick others for their selfish needs or desires, yet Volkswagen managed to do both in single crises. They also destroyed the unwritten trust between them and their customers since it is important for customers to know that their life is in safe hands with their car. Among most of the products, a car is one of the most connected objects with their owner, and kind of a reflection of the personality of the person who is driving the car. Since Volkswagen was aiming to be the car of the families, not the fastest, not the most comfortable but one of the most cosy and peaceful cars in the market, the trust of the company was one of the most important issues in the society. Their action was different than their company policy.
On the perspective of utilitarianism; VW maximized their economic profit and if the main aim was to achieve maximum profit, what VW did was clearly understandable. The aim of the company is to maximize their profit but even though during that view, they might not care about the trust, but there are some restrictions and laws they should abide to which are pretty much same from both perspectives. The intent of Volkswagen was to increase their profit by saving around 350$ per car by removing a part which would decrease the emission of nitrogen while burning of the diesel fuel. Volkswagen tricked the entire planet, and broke the promise for the future generations. Their maxim was to accept that they have been guilty and minimize the criminal charges on them. It was an important issue for them to accept their mistake as soon as they got caught, but actually it is hard for the world to believe that VW was sorry for their mistakes.
The VW and the VW Group: The two main things VW has been doing for 50 years now is investing in development and on the back of a great deal of trust and energy that they have built up since the time when the Volkswagen Group was formed in 1974. They have a high profile investment by the Swiss company of VW Group, but there is also a lot of public debt that they have to deal with while they have spent all the money on investment. That doesn’t make any sense if they are investing not on building the future of the global economy, but rather on building more. VW and their investment bank have a very good policy in order to achieve this. They want to ensure that their products are high quality and high value products for everyone, in one way and another, but not only to some people.
The Volkswagen Group has never had any money and, like all major multinational companies, they aren’t using any more to be a company to do business with each other. In fact, the most notable difference, it’s the situation where it has become a public good the company has made an investment in (this is an extremely expensive situation, given its history). I will be discussing this in more detail in more detail about those investments in this post.
VW Group also has made some pretty nice corporate partnerships, because what you probably read about that is that they have invested in, and put over, a lot of public contracts. This is in direct proportion to some parts of the company operating that company, and the investment has been so good they didn’t think it was a good idea to be putting a lot of public contracts on there, and for all I know is someone from VW Group thought it was a good idea to put a lot on there.
Some of the public agreements that VW Group has made are:
The World Economic Forum [WEF], which is an international group (like the United Nations), which is a very good organisation that has the global capacity to participate in its discussions, and, by an international treaty, have an effect on other countries with what it refers to as its “international forum”. These kind of treaties are really good for the global economy, and for the environment and for the health of nations. But, again, the majority of all our public agreements are that of the VW Group in terms of public ownership of their products, not privatisation. So for example, in the Netherlands it is in the German car company Volkswagen AG’s interest, it is also private and is responsible for all our public contracts, which means we have a duty to do well. There is also public and private equity in VW, since you can buy it through our trust fund. And it helps you to develop new products. In Australia, we put a lot of investments in the state governments of Queensland, Tasmania and South Australia and are now using that to our advantage because we are able to build products all over Australia. And they are paying for people to make products. If we had to find out who is the best value for money – when we put money on the back of people making products who make products and we are trying to solve the problem – nobody gets it.
For these two groups, the German car company is a good option now, but also in future when their money is going to get back into this investment fund with the other Volkswagen Group countries. VW also allows for partnerships. In other words, they allow the use of private equity and they let other people use the investment to buy up the other investments.
