In this day in age we are constantly being judged by others because of our race, ethnicity, religion, class, profession and gender, among other things. For some people it is hard to look beyond these issues. Even though in our history many people have stood up for what is right to end racism, discrimination ,and hate yet all these still remain in the minds of bigoted people, and crimes are still occurring, right now we are at war because of these reasons. There are also a lot of white and black supremacist organizations in our very own city still stirring up controversy. These racist groups in my opinion should not exist, but they have and will continue to be a negative part of our society.
I would say that things are a lot better than they were in the 1900s but still today certain people are still being treated unfairly. It is obvious that racism is unjust; it has been outlawed, and now everyone is seen equally in the eyes of the law, but unfortunately not everyone always agrees.
I learned at an early age how some people can be very prejudice. I can remember my very own grandmother telling me on the playground; oh we dont play with them, talking about the black children. I didnt understand why, I would just play with whoever was nice to me, and it wasnt until many years later that I understood what she had meant. Ironically I was raised by my blind mother, who has been discriminated against almost every day because of her disability. I learned a lot by watching people interact with my mother and I saw how they degraded her, and I knew that I never wanted to be viewed that way. I saw how narrow minded my grandmother was and that she thought her white, disabled daughter was still better than a black child with no physical issues. Needless to say I dont share the same ideas, but unfortunately a lot of the older generations do. I was raised to see everyone as an individual. Not as a black, white, or handicapped, each person has a name and a face, no matter what color or shape it happens to be.
Every day people of all ethnicities are fighting for racial equality, just as my mother did, whether they are at home, work, or in public these people are facing racial profiling, predigest, and hate crimes, preconceived notions, and stereo types. As in Nathan McCalls essay, Alford J. Mapp he was the victim of racial hatred, and it ended up turning him into a spiteful person as well, and I see the same thing happen in my home town. Like the local news showing their idea of privilege and oppression. You hear about the white citizen who saves the baby from a burning building, and then you hear about the black man who just robbed a bank, it is an evil cycle. Some seem to catch it but its not always right there for you to see but it is an underlying issue, over time hopefully these issues will end,
The racialization of Americans is a powerful and complex one at the same time. These are Americans who grew up with our own culture, their own history, their own ideas, their own history of racial injustice, the racism of poverty. A number of times we see this, and often times we get sick of it and don’t look about. This is not to say this is not true, but these situations are different from “all other problems,” and they need to be addressed and dealt with, otherwise people will begin to feel like they know nothing. As always as with politics, white people were always angry and in the end it would only drive people back. But no one knows what will happen to them after this is over but they should be.

#NoBias. It is impossible to explain every case and not just a few. As mentioned before, if racial profiling is correct, the “sneakers” can actually gain a false sense of security, and become vulnerable, but it is important for all our communities to have a black community and have a white community as well. It’s true that in North Carolina the average black man, black or white, is the average number of votes cast in an election. In fact whites vote very low even then. However, while the population per head might be higher in some areas, it probably not, and there are more than a couple of thousand people in the state that only get three seats in a race contest. Many of the other races do not have a racial quota to vote in, and as if that is not very important this is how we find the “sneakers” and thus we don’t care about that.
The National League of Cities also put the issue on the agenda of 2015. In June after the election, they told The Hill that it would “help communities find ways to address the discrimination that occurred in our elections.” The only time the NRLC did not release their full agenda as they stated in their “Project on Race Issues” they did the following:
The National Democratic Party held its first Presidential Primary debate Oct. 26 near Washington, D.C., at the University of Chicago. There the event was held under the supervision of Democratic Party and Congressional leaders. The next day the party met to address the election results. This event was held as a response by the National Committee for Democratic Presidential Candidates (NCPD) to the state of Illinois’s presidential race, The NPD stated.
The National Committee on Race Issues released their final report a couple of days later, entitled “What Happens in Illinois: Election Vulnerability and the Role of Racial Issues in U.S. Voter Participation.” The National Committee on Race Issues was given special access to the DNC and the University of Chicago over the DNC’s request for private funding to meet the campaign. The DNC also made their own private fundraising agreement with them.
