You will find my research on the feasibility of expanding our operations into Mexico and my recommendations for this plan. Mexico and the United States have strong ties through the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), which was implemented in 1994. NAFTA was implemented to remove tariff barriers between Mexico and the United States and Canada. In doing my research, I addressed various issues to include, economic, business and political considerations as well as the cultural aspects. My findings will show that Mexico, despite alleged political corruption and organized crime, is still an attractive city to expand our Widget manufacturing operations into. Mexico’s proximity and the high volume of trade with the United States along with strong economic ties and cultural ties make it an ideal place to expand operations Expanding our operations into this country will not only be an asset for our company but we will be making a name for our company in the international business world.There were several useful web-sites and other resources I used while researching for this proposal. According to The Congressional Research Service (2015), Mexico is the United States third largest trading partner and its close proximity makes it a perfect place to do business. The lower cost of wages makes it a perfect place to produce goods at competitive prices and remain competitive in the world market place (Villarreal).
