William Shakespeare was born in 1564 at Stratford upon Avon. His true date of birth is a mystery. It is traditionally celebrated on April 23rd(“Shakespeares” pg 1). His parents were quite the people.
William Shakespeare was born to Mary and John Shakespeare. John Shakespeare was a glove maker. In his later years John held several political positions including Borough ale taster. Mary Shakespeare was a member of a minor aristocratic family. Shakespeare was the third child of eight and the first to survive past infancy(“Shakespeares” pg 1).
