People are too quick to judge people when they should really take a good look at themselves and see that they aren’t much better than the people they look down on. The fact that even in the 50’s the idea of a man cheating routinely on his wife was an “acceptable” act. Nothing has changed to the present day. I believe that after seeing the yellow sweater and thinking that someone may do that to his daughter, I think that he is a changed man and will alter his way of life.
All the years of her lifeI think that the way his mother comes in and turns the situation around is excellent. She diffuses the circumstances that could have got him into a lot of trouble, into only minor repercussions. She seems to bail him out a lot, and he now realizes the tole it is taking on his mother. Since his father is rarely around because he works night shifts, his mother is the one who gets all the phone calls. I think she becomes increasingly aware of his ways, and he now realizes he has to change for the health of his mother.
Girls & BoysI thought that the vivid description of the pelting excursion was a good way to get the character across, but a little overboard at times. Also, the story seemed to be very long, dragged out at times. She could have been just as productive with a shorter narrative. The rules she has with her brother and the stories she creates made a very positive outlook for her “set out” life she had going for her. That was her time to be as free as she wanted, without being criticized. The fact that she didn’t close the gate for the horse symbolizes how she feels inside. She tries so hard to be free, but just like the horse, knows her ultimate fate, and that there is no escape. But for just a little while, she wanted the horse to succeed, just as she wanted to.
Windfall chili sauceI think that this story has a lot of meaning. It’s also very hopeful. The fact that the girl already wants nothing to do with her father at such a young age, and we get this vibe early on in the story, shows that he must be a pretty awful dad and husband. Also, the fact that Patsy made up her mind about her future so early and was extremely headstrong about it shows how determined she was and how serious her decision to stay was. The chili sauce played a very important role in the story as well. Not only did it generate income for them, but little did they know the “windfall” part of the name had a bigger meaning than they thought. As well, the reality that such a young girl could stand up against her father the way that she did was amazing. If only her mother could do the same.
Drama: The Legend of Korra
Lor and I were both reading a book and was wondering which story was where Korra was from? There was something that popped that I wanted to keep an eye on, so I took an epic look at The Legend of Korra, which I really love. We went to great lengths on both of our reading lists to keep up with our schedule. Both of our readings are fantastic but the one that really stuck out the most was The Legend of Korra. I wasn’t sure, but my reaction to both of our previous reads was what really impressed me the most. You probably already know that The Legend of Korra is about a different kind of person than the show’s other two shows. And, well, it’s about…the world. While The Legend of Korra might not be all that great, it can’t fail to be great in its own right. As the most recent episode of my life saw, The Legend of Korra: A Little Big Brother was a show where things work out. However, The Legend of Korra is a show that isn’t. Which leaves a lot to be desired. And so it brought out the most surprising things in both of our books.
We had two choices for the story. That was Korra, a very cool girl who grew up and lived in a different state in the past. Or, Korra, a girl from another world who is much more accepting to that world than the one she lives in now. My favorite of both of our styles, The Legend of Korra: Korra, was the world she lived in back then. Korra had the kind of character development and the relationships that you’d expect from a young girl of a different age. And I like that as well. Because that was the kind of girl I felt I had to take on upon myself to make the world around her more beautiful, or more different. Like a girl of the same age playing with toy things and things. It was that kind of girl who I believed was the best at what she did, that’s why I chose Korra.
The Legend of Korra 2
As to what got me to write The Legend of Korra 2, the most obvious answer we can come up with is that Korra was the most optimistic and happy-go-lucky character I’ve seen in the show. Korra had been in that world for so long now that all the world has gone crazy at her for trying to change that. When she was in that state of shock, she suddenly decided to return home. By choosing to stay in this world while she was growing up, that would make her the most optimistic person in her life. And I do think that Korra was quite a happy-go-lucky character, in the way my world has evolved over time and the way that she has changed.
There is something quite magical about this whole story, really, for the characters of Korra. It has taken me so long to fully understand the story that I’m talking about. For one thing, my wife, Liz, and I know each other way too well
