The challenge appears in present wireless technology because of its vulnerability in terms of interference. This report reviews some of the few related work done in the recent past, and how interference is affecting the communication in Ad Hoc networks. This study examines the impact of interference on real-time application traffic in MANET in terms of traffic overhead and throughput. Some of the work presented in this report may partially contradict with the previous theories that states that node density has no effect of the performance of the network and hence does not create interference. Different factors have been simulated to study this case from all aspects. Results have shown that with an Ad Hoc network of a transmission power of 2W and data rate 54 Mbps with less number of nodes, to perform well against any other scenario with less transmission power, more node density and les data rate. Other factors and parameters have been taken into consideration. An optimum solution is provided based on the simulation study and explanation on why AP operates better than Ad hoc in terms channel selection.
AcknowledgmentI owe my deepest gratitude to Mr. Mansoor Ali for his bearing, assistance, guidance, recommendations and suggestions which have been exquisite for the project report. Special thanks to the librarians who have been a great help in finding the resource materials I needed.  Finally, words alone cannot express the thanks I owe to my fiancé, for her encouragement and assistance.Table of ContentChapterContent
