The Wolf of Wall Street
AIS 2200         Wong Kwan Lok Kenneth(54065648)         Thinkpiece12The Wolf of Wall Street, this is an American biographical black comedy crime film released in 2013. The whole plots in this film is actually adapted from the memoir of the same name by Jordan Belfort and invited Leonardo DiCaprio plays as Jordan Belfort to recount the true story. However, this film was controversial because of the morally ambiguous depiction of events, use of foul languages, explicit sexual contents, depicting hard drug use and the use of animals during production. Nonetheless, this film still received many positive feedbacks such as the fantastic performance of DiCaprio and the consistent humor inside.  I think that many people would dream to have such kind of things like power, wealth, brand-new cars, an elegant house, a nice-looking partner etc. However, to gain this status is actually not easy and it requires not only ones ability but also with luck, connections. Therefore, as we all know that we cannot easily achieve it, this movie is likely to show us what would happen if a person possesses with all these things that we will label as success.Nontheless, the word “success” is really based on how we define and perceive it. If we see the person in the movie as successful, we will notice that the way he became successful is not worth to appreciate as it is illegal.  I appreciate that he tried very hard to gain a better status with his perseverance, but it turns out that he addicted to the materialistic world and finally lost his family and even go to the jail. This reminds me that being a successful person is not only determined by his/her power or wealth.
