My Wedding – Descriptive Essay
My Wedding        Every little girl dreams about their big day. After dreaming of mine for so long, my dreams finally got to come true. On May twenty third, two thousand fifteen I married my best friend. I remember it all like it was yesterday from the hectic morning of, to the ceremony and the reception. On this day my life changed forever, for the better, it meant that our family would be together forever. Although my life has changed forever, I am grateful because I got to marry the man of my dreams.         The hectic morning of the big day had come so quickly. I had unexpectedly fallen asleep on the couch the previous night, and was awaken by my alarm the next morning. I got up frantically to make sure I wasn’t late for anything. All morning was spent running around making sure everything was organized and in place. By mid-morning I had felt like I hadn’t accomplished anything, and it was time for the women of the bridal party and I to get our hair done. Having all of my favorite women in the beauty salon at the same time is one of my favorite memories of this day. We talked about old memories, we all laughed together and of course I cried some. The beauty shop had provided complementary bagels and Mimosa, which really helped calm the nerves. While enjoying reminiscing with my family and friends, I hadn’t paid a bit of attention to what the stylist was doing to my hair. The stylist stated “I think we are finished here.” At that time she spun my chair around so I could look in the mirror. I was speechless. I hated it. It was big, puffy and bumpy. While trying not to hurt the stylist’s feelings, I started to cry. I knew we didn’t have time to redo it, and was completely scared I would have to face my big day with hair like that.  The stylist immediately knew I was disappointed and started working again. Ten minutes later she was finished again, and this time I loved it! With little time to get to the venue, we were all rushing out of the door.
Arriving at the venue, The Magnuson Grand Hotel, I felt more nervous and nauseous than ever. There was no time to think about that though. We had so much to do in such little time. It was time for all the women of the bridal party to get dressed, and have our makeup done. All of this to be done in one short hour.  We all managed to be ready in time for pictures before the ceremony began. We headed outdoors for pictures, the weather was absolutely beautiful. The sky was full of sunshine with a temperature in the upper seventies. The weather couldn’t have been better for this perfect day.          It was time, time for the ceremony to begin. The ceremony was taking place on a large deck by a pond. The deck was lined with flowers, and crowded with family and friends. It was very overwhelming looking through the window to see over a hundred guests waiting patiently for me to walk down the aisle. The music began, and the bridal party started walking up the deck to the altar. Last but not least, there my father and I stood. As the music switched over we began to walk down the aisle. I clenched my dad’s arm tightly with mine and he stated “Are you ready for this?” My lips were trembling too bad to reply. Before I knew it I was standing at the altar with my soon to be husband. Everything seemed so silent, like it was just him and I in an empty room. We began repeating vows after the minister, and completed the sand ceremony. I never imagined how much of a weight would be lifted off of my shoulders as I said “I do.” I felt amazingly happy as we exited the ceremony. Many smiles, cheers and congratulations were given as we exited.
