Chicago in the Summer
Photography is a method for producing lasting images by means of a chemical reaction that occurs when light hits a specially prepared surface. It was invented during the first three decades of the 19th century as a direct consequence of advances in chemistry and optics (the science of the behavior of light). The word photography comes from two Greek words that mean “writing with light.” Photographs serve as scientific evidence, conveyers of news, historical documents, works of art, and records of family life. Millions of people around the world own cameras and enjoy taking pictures; every year more than 10 billion exposures are made with still cameras. .”(Photography)
Picture, that I want to share, was made on a hot July afternoon in Chicagos downtown. The picture displays the broad view of Chicagos downtown from the Millennium Park. In my opinion the picture well defines Chicago as a city. On the one hand it is one of biggest and most beautiful modern cities in the world, with its tall glass, still and concrete buildings, on the other hand Chicago is very green city with many parks and gardens scattered all around the city. Chicagos architecture is defined not only by its well-planned and designed skyscrapers, that beautify Chicagos skyline, but also by masterfully crafted and maintained parks and gardens. The open space in the Millennium Park allows capturing deep and diverse view of the city with variety of landscape.
In the front of the picture we see white and lavender flowers that appear growing in the meadow. The focal point in the picture is flowers garden in the middle of the picture. We see a beautiful garden of multicolor summer flowers. Evergreen bushes surrounding flowers garden provide sharp contrast between light and dark colors. On the both edges of the picture we see alleys of young trees that are so common in Chicago. Citys corporate and business
