HANNAHS ANSWERS:
I was 19
2. It was 1989 and there was a Recession on then too and no work, also Eileen & Ann were there so I figured Id check out my birth place!!
3. No regrets at allI would highly recommend everyone to live & work in NY.
1. You really cant compare them, Ireland has a much more relaxed pace and America is all go.
2. The work environment could also be quite similar to #1 above, but there wouldnt be overtime here like in most jobs (if not all) in the States.
3. I think youd probably have a better retirement plan (money wise!!) in the States but it could also be lonelier if you dont have family near, it all depends on your situation, how your health is and if youre active and involved in any clubs.
As you know, all 3 questions, society, work & retirement are all closely knit together, without 1 the others not mean much or possibly not work out!
Both countries, Ireland and the States, are totally different that its pretty much impossible to compare them. Since Ive moved home people have asked me where do I like best…talk about acting like kids! But my answer is always the same…I like both places, there is nothing to compare because of the different pace life is lived in each country.
Society, or social life is totally different…here if someone calls you up to meet in 5 minutes for a beer (or rather a pint as is said here regardless of what you drink!! itll take at least 1/2 hour to change and get made-up and go, as to, literally, walking out the door as soon as you hang-up the call.
