With the rise of globalization in the world of today, the passing of information, media, and content has become more important than ever. Individuals are no-longer working in a society that was once a narrow-minded place and instead are living in an open-ended economy where ideas and information can be sent freely at will. It is due to this reason, the workplace has had a huge leap of change in the working conditions and perception of what today is called work. However, as the rise of globalization has occurred, various revolts against powerful entities such as the Ford Motor Company and Walmart have been performed so that the people of today are able to benefit in the workplace. This idea of revolting can be seen through the film Office Space by Mike Judge in 1999, in which the director gives the viewer an front row seat of a group of software engineers whom work in for powerful entity known as Intec, which are sucking the life out of them through their excessive management. As a result of excessive management, the main character, Peter griffins, goes to work every day and hates his job as he has to endure sitting in a cubical where is put to work by crunching numbers all day. This leads him to spend countless hours staring at his desk as he receives constant harassment from Initechs manager, Bill Lumbergh and receives the nagging of the two consultants “The Bobs” whom are brought in to provide help in cutting of the companys expenses, majorly through downsizing. By performing these techniques, the company is able to use scientific management, alienation and deskilling to get their workers to get back to work.
