Baby Food
Baby food is any soft, easily consumed food, other than breast milk, which is made especially for infants who roughly in the age of four or six months to two or three years. Parents can prepare the food by themselves or purchased the instant one from the manufacturers. It is recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) that “… after six months, infants should be fed adequate and safe complimentary food while continuously breastfeeding …” However, some babies may differ greatly from this recommendation; they might be ready for the food before six-month old. This depends on the readiness of the child that is not only by age but also upon to the developments sign e.g. the ability to sit with only little help or the interest when seeing new people and smile to them. Parents or the caregivers should observe and learn these signs in order to feed the babies properly. Baby food is very important; it helps improve the infants development and health. WHO organization also suggested that lack of appropriate feeding in early childhood is a major risk factor for ill-health throughout the course of life. The life-long impact may include poor school performance, reduced productivity, impaired intellectual and social development, or chronic diseases.

Nowadays, there are dramatically changes in people lifestyle especially among parents. Both father and mother have to work outside, and have fewer times to prepare the baby food by themselves. So, many parents choose the instant baby food to feed their babies more and more. Moreover, today parents are looking for the “best choice” for their babies; resulting in more amounts of money spent in order to get that “best choice”. The baby food business is continually expanding especially in Asia Pacific region and among the developing countries such as China, or India.
