Based on our readings, discussions, and the Survivor activity some of the most important and successful strategies a world leader should adapt is alliance-building. A world leader should follow the means of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” when building alliances. Such as in the Survivor activity being a representative of the Mughal Empire we were able to form alliance with far more countries than actually occurred in history. One such relationship was with Peter the Great of Russia; a distant country that normally wouldn’t be our greatest compatriot but as we shared a common enemy in Philip II and the Holy Roman Emperor we were able to join forces in an attempt to knock them down. Although, our plan ultimately failed we were able to save ourselves specifically from being knocked out. In addition, in the foul relationship between Japan and China sort of led the Spanish to limit their communication with Japan no matter if it was purposely. Furthermore, another strategy a world leader in Period 4 must have is “to keep the people happy” a.k.a have a great deal of religious tolerance, within your own empire.
