Executive Summary
For almost 100 years Company Z has been an innovator in technology. Company Z is a large government contractor manufacturing goods and services for our countrys defense as well as its allies. It has 72,000 employees worldwide and is an engineering solutions company. Some of the products they make include weapon systems, targeting systems and even camera systems that are used at traffic signals to catch drivers who run red lights. The company is known as a leader in the defense industry and got its start by inventing the microwave oven. It has grown over the years by acquiring other defense companies and maintaining a solid business plan.

The major divisions of Company Z are:
Space and Airborne
Missile Systems
Technical services
Network Centric Systems
Integrated Defense
Intelligence and information systems
The company is publicly traded and has a strong loyalty to its share holders as well as end user of its product as most of its products are used in protecting the countrys national security. The company sells products and services to customers in 80 nations, and its international opportunities and pursuits are growing.

In order to stay competitive, save money and become more efficient Company Z needs to take advantage of new information technology systems. I have looked into and decided that a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) system would be the best option. The justification for making this change is simple. This system will save the company money as it equalizes the costs of long distance calls, local calls, and e-mails to fractions of a cent per use. Another advantage is how VoIP empowers businesses to customize telecom and datacom solutions
