She was there the second I opened my big brown eyes into this world. She sat by my side through thick and thin, and my parents could not have picked out a better baby gift. Ellie–my prized possession growing up, the cutest, most loveable stuffed animal a kid could ask for.
Its not like I remember, because I had just come out of the womb, but Ive been told that room 356 at Holy Cross Hospital, definitely was not shy of baby presents. As my body grew, my emotions matured, and my senses became more active, I started to discover these various gifts that were given specially to me, and only me. Friends and family members went out of their way for me. They spent tons of money, time, and effort on personalized items, but for some reason only one object stood out to me. There she was, the fluffy pink elephant, with two small black eyes staring right at me just begging for attention. The minute I saw her, I was already in love with her. She was perfect. For years and years of my childhood, I wouldnt take a step without her; I wanted with me at all times. If you were having a conversation with me, you were having one with Ellie too.
As I became older, we grew apart. I went on with my life and developed into who I am today, but I have to say I couldnt have done it without her. She made me feel like I always had someone to comfort me, and always someone to hold onto. Although Im not attached to her anymore, she still sits in my room next to my bed, and watches over me at all times.
