Intro
Can you recall the words “Oh, you’re too young…you’ll understand when you’re older!” Statements such as these conflict the thoughts of many teens. Maybe it’s not about getting older…maybe it’s about having those older than us compromise by placing themselves into our shoes. Compromise is a noun containing the meaning of a middle state between conflicting opinions or actions reached by mutual concessions. Undoubtedly, this is a common word used in many cases that I’d like to refer to as “teens vs. parents”. Whether it’s going to a concert with some friends, getting that piercing you’ve been dying for, or convincing your parents to let you date that significant other there’s always a problem, and that problem is usually solved by a simple thing referred to as compromise. As a young adult myself, trust me, striking a balance is the first and most crucial step in surviving those timeless teenage years!
