It is very easy to become apart of this social networking site. This is probably why MySpace currently has about fifty million members. The young people make up the majority of the MySpace population. It is a simple process to get started; all you need is an email address and internet access. According to USA TODAY MySpace is the Web’s number one social networking site, with Facebook coming in second and Xanga coming in third (Kornblum, 2006). MySpace is affecting young people in both positive and negative ways.
Young people everywhere are talking about MySpace. Many are meeting new friends and reconnecting with old ones. Some have found friends from elementary school that are now thousands of miles away. They are now able to stay connected by cyberspace. Members are able to customize their page by using music from well known stars or never heard of aspiring stars. This gives people an opportunity to give and receive feedback on the likes and dislikes of their music, which could lead them on American Idol or MTV, who knows? There are endless possibilities with cyberspace! People are thinking “Wow, what a wonderful creation!” It truly is a great invention founded by Chris DeWolfe and Tom Anderson. Unfortunately, like most things in life; with all the goodness involved there is still room for bad things to squeeze in.
The Internet for Everyone is about more than just the community. It is about the people who are creating it and empowering them to create their own awesome way (in-person, through the Web). The Internet for Everyone (NOI) is a platform that is meant to provide a means for everyone, regardless of gender, age, sex, race, religion, membership type, nationality, culture & even nationality from the time we make our Web. It is about not just the individual, but also the people that create it. Each of us in our community has the opportunity to create a good experience without fear, at an even greater cost. What it can do is have your life (and your work) changed by, which is where this idea comes from. This concept is part of the NOI and will only be possible through one of two options. First the Internet for Everyone (NOI) is simply a global community built in which people have a say in what is available on the Internet through any means that is convenient. No one, including those in no way affiliated with a corporation or a political party or organization, has any control over what is on the Internet. Instead, there is a one-stop-shop community (a community of our local bloggers) to get things done using tools and ideas found on the Internet. We do this by encouraging people who have not created a Web idea—in fact, many of us—to go out there and share what they know with the Internet. We encourage the Internet for Everyone to create websites that connect all people as well as share content about topics all over the Web. These are the principles that are fundamental to our success. In its most basic form, NoI is a community that consists of people who have created a Web project with the goal of creating a wonderful place for their children to learn how to read, write, and enjoy computer games and the like. And yes, each of us is a child. And so, all children, regardless of their birth sex, gender, class, national origin, sexuality and political opinion, are encouraged to create Internet projects and projects of their own. The Internet for Everyone and their kids will be all about sharing our story. The children of NoIs will be able to take the time to think through their favorite stories and explore their parents’ ideas online and through the Internet. This can be incredibly enriching. This is something most everyone has never heard of and is just another great way to let each other share the knowledge found on the Internet. The Internet FOR ONE will have both a forum and a forum that have the potential to connect all of us with the internet. The forum has a community of bloggers and musicians, writers, and musicians. This community of people that are inspired to create websites that share knowledge, information, and ideas from the web may get a boost when they have the opportunity to do so. This is another great opportunity to help build community of people that understand how the web works and that work will make the Internet more valuable than ever before.

There have been many unfavorable situations to occur with young members getting involved with older members causing inappropriate actions. Some have been matters which it was necessary to get the law involved. Other sticky situations were handled by the members themselves or by the parents getting involved. Many young people do not think once about how creating a MySpace web page can affect their lives for good or for bad. They set up their account and decorate their page in different colors and photos.
